The Clean Plate Club Food Truck was founded in 2019 in Philadelphia, PA by Sara & Keith Dreitlein. They’re a husband and wife team who met in culinary school at Johnson & Wales University, in an elevator of all places! They recently turned their business into a family affair, with the addition of their baby, Theo.
After leaving school in Rhode Island, they headed down to North Carolina for a few years, but ultimately headed back north to be closer to family. They landed in Philly in 2017, right after they got married. Sara has a background in catering and Keith's is in fine dining. After cooking for other people for so long, they finally decided to bet on themselves and open The Clean Plate Club Food Truck.
Their food truck has a 'chef-driven' menu that changes weekly (sometimes even daily!) depending on where they are. Their food ranges from brunch favorites like smoked salmon eggs benedict on homemade buttermilk biscuits — to innovative bar food like their pickled brined, dry-rub chicken wings — and just about everything in between. They always try to cook with seasonality in mind, work with local producers and vendors, and keep themselves and their customers excited about their food.
It's their goal to make food that you want to eat, so if you're hosting an event with them, be sure to tell them all your favorites so that they can include them!
